The First Wave

Wow the first wave of ball pythons have hatched and sold! The 2010 season is turning out to be better than expected and we still have a ton of eggs incubating. So what can you expect in the near future? We have yellow belly and enchi ball pythons that have shed and eaten their first meals; they will be ready to ship shortly. We also have more killer bees, bumble bees, pastels, cinnamons and yellow bellies hatching today. So be on the lookout for pictures and prices!

Ball Pythons (Python regius)

The Python Regius or Royal Python is now more commonly referred to as the ball python. This is due their tendency to curl into a ball when threatened. They originate from Central and West Africa and their natural habitat is within the open grasslands of this part of the continent where they can enjoy the heat of the day before coming out of their burrows at night, usually to hunt small rodents for food. They are constrictor snakes, who coil around their prey and are not venomous. Their existence has been recorded for thousands of years and legend has it that Cleopatra wore one around her wrist giving raise the “Royal” descriptor. [Click Link to Read More]
